Linda is the daughter of Ethel Lee Horner and the step-daughter of the late William Arnold Horner. She has one son Tron Wilder and daughter-in-law Kristie. Tron is a school psychologist. Kristie is employed with Southern Adventist University and attends Nashville School of Law. They live in Chattanooga. 
Linda was born at the "old" Hamblen hospital to Ethel and Jimmy Lee. Tragically, her father died in a vehicle accident on North Cumberland Street a few months before her birth. Linda and her sister Laura 
Linda attended elementary school in Calumet City, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She remembers well the winters of the "windy city". She still goes back for visits but is always glad to be back home in Hamblen County. 
She graduated from Morristown High School in 1968.
